Jewish Family & Children's Service is a private, non-profit family service agency offering a full range of clinical, community-based and support services to children, couples, adults, families, seniors and émigrés. Licensed, experienced clinical social workers provide these services to the residents of Passaic and northwest Bergen Counties. Overview JF&CS understands that everyone needs help at one time or another. No matter your age or your circumstances, JF&CS is here to help. The JF&CS mission and tradition is based on providing our services in a manner that is consistent with Jewish philosophy and values. Over the years, we have always recognized and responded to the evolving needs of those whom we serve. We continue our commitment to serve the Jewish community, but also recognize our responsibilities to the general community and we offer our services, without restriction, to all individuals and families. We respond to many of the problems you may be experiencing: marital stress, concerns about your children, work difficulties, sexual dysfunction, separation and divorce, single parent dilemmas, concerns of remarried families, school-related problems, bereavement, problems of aging, questions about Jewish identity, resettlement, and information and referral. JF&CS serves men, women and children of all ages, all incomes and all lifestyles. We help people who are experiencing anxiety, depression, illness, troubled relationships, unemployment, physical fraility, financial stress and isolation. We help those who worry about growing up and those who worry about growing old. Our services are confidential. Our staff is comprised of licensed professionals with many years of experience and training in their areas of expertise. We combine this professionalism with a knowledge and commitment to Jewish values and sensitivity to all ethnic concerns. From resettling newly arrived émigré families, to telephone reassurance to an elderly shut-in; to working with a sad and sullen child or a depressed teenager; to arranging for Passover assistance to advocating for community services; JF&CS is here... to Listen... help... and heal.
